Description | Information East Coast Railway [ECoR] - II has come up with Doubling of Kottavalasa-Koraput Rail Line [189 KM] with a ticket size of 2491.71 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The existing railway line between Kottavalasa-Koraput a part of K-K [Kothavalasa-Kirandul] line is a single line with speed potential up to 100 kmph. The coaching traffic at present consists of one pair of UP and Dn trains. The demand of goods traffic on the existing single line is increasing over the period due to increase of production of goods and minerals in the vast catchment and consequent transportation requirement. Doubling of this line will greatly ease the ever increasing freight traffic between these sections. Important stations in the section are Kottavalasa, S. Kota, Araku and Koraput City. |
