The project focuses on harnessing the Democratic Republic of Congo's vast hydropower potential of 100,000 megawatts, which is about 13% of the world's total, to close the gap in the country's current energy production that only utilizes about 3% of this potential. The initiative includes large-scale hydro projects like the Inga dams, mini-grids, off-grid solutions, solar, wind, biomass, and hydro rehabilitation projects. The goal is to provide reliable power for mining, agriculture, and rural electrification through private sector participation, renewable energy financing, and productive use of energy in rural areas.
