Description | Core problem The core problem is that the poor population in particular, especially in the urban outskirts, do not yet have sufficient, sustainable access to affordable drinking water and sanitation services that also ensure compliance with hygiene standards. Module objective The aim of the FC module is to ensure a sustainable year-round supply of hygienically safe drinking water to previously undersupplied cities in the project regions. Key outputs 40 positive drillings for drinking water, rehabilitation and expansion of the drinking water supply network in three cities, hygiene awareness campaigns, detailed studies for the rehabilitation and expansion of the drinking water supply systems Target group The target group of the DC measure is the population of Burkina Faso in general (TC) and the population of selected, fast-growing cities (Banfora, Bérégadougou, Niangoloko) in the Boucle du Mouhoun, Cascades, Hauts-Bassins and South-West regions in particular (FC). Contribution to the national implementation of Agenda 2030 (not in the MV) The project therefore contributes to the goals 1 to permanently end poverty in all its forms everywhere, 3 to promote health and well-being for all, 6 to enable availability of water and sanitation and 11 to design inclusive and sustainable cities and urban planning for sustainable development and thus to the implementation of Agenda 2030. |
