The project involves the construction of the 19-courtroom Family Courts complex built on a brownfield site located at Hammond Lane/Church Street in Dublin adjacent to the Four Courts in the heart of the city’s legal quarter.The current family court venues in central Dublin, including Dolphin House, Chancery Street, and Phoenix House, are characterized by their rudimentary nature, marked by overcrowding, insufficient privacy, inadequate waiting areas, and a lack of child and family-friendly spaces. These shortcomings contribute to the stress experienced by individuals involved in family law proceedings.The Dublin Family Courts complex aims to address these deficiencies by replacing fragmented and inadequate facilities with a modern, purpose-built facility. This new complex will provide a dignified, secure, and non-threatening environment for conducting family law cases. Additionally, the complex will integrate court facilities with mediation, family support, and related services, ensuring a comprehensive approach to addressing family legal matters.
