The series tells the story of three kittens embarking on a dangerous quest after being unjustly banished from their home by King Walter. As they journey to find a treasure to earn his forgiveness, they come to understand that the world they live in is more complex than it seems, and that King Walter might be the biggest threat they ever faced. They will eventually come back home to end his tyranny and bring freedom to the Kingdom of Cats. By virtue of its genre (fully serialized series, heroic fantasy), format (12 x 22') and democratic values, the series will stand out in the sea of animated content available to today’s audience and garner interest from children aged 7 to 11 while meeting the needs of the buyers, as shown by the large number of pre-sales. With 7 channels broadcasting in five different languages (France Télévisions, DR-Denmark, VRT-Flemish Belgium, RTS-Switzerland, BNT-Bulgaria, BBC, TV5) and co-producers from 4 different countries - Watch Next (France), Lunanime (Belgium), Mélusine (Luxembourg) and Zmei (Bulgaria) - renowned for the quality of their animated series and feature films - who will carry out 100% of the work within the EU, “Dungeons & Kittens” is a European series in terms of its financing, production and values. Thanks to the support of its partners, and with the help of a Creative Europe Media grant, the series’ budget will stand above €6 million (equivalent to €13 million for a 52x11' series), which is the minimum threshold to establish European animation on the historically US-dominated premium content market."
