Description

Description

The project involves the construction of the 4.6MW Dupinga mini hydro power project in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, in the Philippines. The plant is being developed by Dupinga Mini Hydro Corporation (DMHC), a partnership between Alternergy Holdings Corporation and Markham Resources Corporation. The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) provided a $11.79 million (PHP660 million) loan to support the development of the hydro power plant. DBP financed the project under its Financing Utilities for Sustainable Energy Development (FUSED), which aims to contribute to the increased access to electricity services through financing of utility-scale energy generation projects. The electricity produced by the plant will be supplied to Nueva Ecija II – Area 2 Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NEECO 2- Area 2). The loan was approved on 8 July, 2022 and DBP will release the first tranche from the loan within the same month (July 2022) to fully mobilize construction activities and target completion by early 2024.
