Information Water Resources-BR has come up with Durgawati Reservoir Project with a ticket size of 971.96 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Tender Award and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Durgawati Reservoir Project is spread in Kaimur & Rohtas districts of Bihar. Durgawati dam is an earthen dam across Durgawati river joining Shergarh hills on the right [in Rohtas district] and Rajdeo hills on the left [in Kaimur district]. An ogee spillway has been constructed at the right side of dam near Shergarh. Two canals off take from either ends of the dam. The length of Right Main Canal is 34.08 Km which irrigates areas in Rohtas district, while the length of Left Main Canal is 26.6 Km and which irrigates areas in Kaimur district. The project under execution initially envisaged creation of Ultimate Irrigation Potential [UIP] of 37,550 ha area including 16020 ha potential created under Kudra Weir. Subsequently, re-modeling of Kudra Weir was taken up in the year 2003 which increased the UIP of Kudra Weir from 16,200 ha to 18080 ha. Accordingly, the UIP of Durgawati Reservoir Project [including Kudra Weir], works out to be 39,610 ha.
