Description | The project involves the construction of the Durgesh Aranya Zoological Park at Bankhandi in the Dehra subdivision of Kangra district. The park will cover 233 hectares and include lion and tiger safaris, enclosures for various animals, reptiles, and birds, three parking facilities, food courts, and other visitor amenities. Additional facilities such as hospital and administrative buildings, operation theatre, diagnostic building, quarantine area, commissary area, toilet blocks, and underground tanks are planned. The project also includes eco-tourism activities, a planetarium, adventure activities like rock climbing and boating, and a 1 MW solar power project for energy needs. Indigenous species will be planted to enhance ecological appeal. The park has received certification from the Indian Green Building Council for sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives. |
