• The project consists of the replacement of conventional public transit vehicles with lower emission, hybrid electric public transit vehicles. • Specifically, ten (10) hybrid electric conventional public transit vehicles will be replacing ten (10) conventional transit vehicles, which have or are about to reach the end of their respective twelve-year lifecycles. The hybrid buses will include intelligent transportation system and fare collection technology installations. • The project will lead to improved capacity, quality, and safety of existing and future public transit system infrastructure as well as improved access to the public transit system in Durham, Ontario.
