The Privatization assistance Project will create the basis for an accelerated privatization program, through a supportive institutional framework. The components will: 1) strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Participation and Coordination of Economic Reforms (MPCR), financing the resources, and expertise required for policy, and legal advisory services. Additionally, technical advisors will support the development of, and preparation for enterprise privatization. It includes funding for specialists, and study tours for MPCR staff; 2) strengthen the Conseil de Privatisation transaction capacity, through the support of advisory services, and, investment banks will provide assistance in complex transactions. Advisory services will also support the design of specific outreach, and information activities; and, 3) ensure adequate general, and financial management of the project, namely, supporting the project implementation unit with strong procurement, and financial management.
