The project will construct a new Friendship Centre in the District of Houston. The project will demolish the existing aging Friendship Centre building and rebuild a new facility to meet the current and growing cultural, social and recreational needs of the off-reserve First Nations community. The project will help provide high quality culturally centered programs, activities and services to community members in Houston, with a particular focus on supporting holistic health and wellness for Indigenous peoples living off-reserve in their community for generations to come. The project works will include: - demolition of the existing building; - site preparation; - construction of the new three level Friendship Centre; - construction of washrooms; - construction of an elevator and stairs; - kitchen and storage; - plumbing, electrical and mechanical works; - landscaping and parking; and, - all related works.
