Description | Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) has signed a framework agreement with First American Nuclear Company (FANCO) to cooperate on the EAGL-1 small modular reactor (SMR) project in the US. Hyundai E&C will participate in early development phases including balance-of-plant design, constructability reviews, and modularisation planning. The companies are also exploring an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partnership for project execution. The EAGL-1 is a fourth-generation, liquid metal-cooled fast reactor designed to generate 240 MWe per reactor, with a modular plant layout capable of supplying electricity to 1.2 million households. |
