As a project coordinator, Playtime gathered a grouping of 28 European distributors to work on EAGLES OF THE REPUBLIC by Tarik Saleh, the last film of Saleh’s Cairo trilogy, after The Nile Hilton Incident and Boy from Heaven. This grouping includes experienced distributors from both large and small European territories, all known for their expertise in arthouse cinema. The primary goal of this initiative is to develop a Pan-European distribution strategy. Within the group, we plan to exchange local release strategies (including positioning, P&A, etc.) and share marketing materials, as well as insights into the specific challenges and risks faced in each territory. We are confident that this collective effort will strengthen the film’s profile and enhance its box-office results. Playtime coordinates various activities to foster communication and collaboration among distributors. We maintain close ties through organized events and idea-sharing sessions. We've established a Slack community to facilitate updates and enable direct interaction among members, streamlining communication within the grouping. The outcomes of this collaboration will be quickly shared with non-European distributors to support the film’s success beyond Europe.
