Eames Design Museum Conversion at Birkenstock Campus

Herzog & de Meuron and EHDD are converting the 1960s former Birkenstock campus in Novato, California, into a design museum for the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity. The project involves transforming a warehouse and an office building originally designed by John Savage Bolles into a world-class art and design museum featuring exhibition spaces, maker spaces, and workshops. The design will preserve the distinctive tent-like concrete roof of the warehouse and incorporate the historic concrete structure into the new museum design.
