Description

The development objective of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for Floating Villages Project for Cambodia is to improve access to quality ECCD services through community and home-based programs for 0 to 5-year-olds, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in the targeted areas. The project comprises of four components. The first component, promoting access to ECCD service objective is to provide low-cost community-based (CB) and home-based (HB) ECCD programs for children and parents around the floating communities living on the Tonle Sap river and lake. The second component, providing quality child-friendly ECCD program will focus on creating an enabling, child friendly environment that incorporates child participation, play and learning, stimulation, care, and protection both at home and in the constructed ECCD centers. The third component, strengthening capacity of government and community structures will contribute to effective implementation of ECCD policies focusing on children’s holistic development. The fourth component, project management and administration, monitoring and evaluation (M and E), and knowledge dissemination consists of following activities: (i) facilitating project management, including advocacy-related activities, (ii) undertaking results-based M and E of the program, and (iii) undertaking knowledge dissemination.
