A major federal geological project involving a series of low-level flights across Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin to locate critical mineral resources and modernize geological maps. The survey aims to identify minerals essential for the U.S. economy and national security, including barite, cobalt, gallium, germanium, indium, zinc, and other rare earth elements. Flights will be conducted by experienced pilots using small fixed-wing aircraft with passive sensors, coordinated with the FAA for safety.
