Description | Earthrise is preparing to submit a special use permit to Will County for a 5,400-acre, 600 MW solar project. The project involves solar panel installation, underground transmission lines where possible, and includes plans for buffers and landscaping to minimize visual impact. Construction is planned to start in summer 2026 and is expected to take 18 to 24 months to complete. The project will create 600 construction jobs and 3-4 permanent jobs, with an estimated $3 million in taxes in the first year. |
