Description | The area known as the East End in Moncton is vulnerable to flooding due to its low elevation and proximity to Hall’s Creek which is a tidal river. This area was originally developed in the 1910’s and is serviced by a combined sewer system that is undersized and has reached the end of its service life. This project, which is a recommendation from the Flood Mitigation Study conducted by Moncton in 2017, consists of installing a storm sewer detention basin in the East End area (near Fergus and Stafford Street). This project also includes the installation of a new storm sewer outfall discharging into Hall’s Creek. |
