East Kootenay - Cold Spring Creek Debris Flow Mitigation Phase 2

The Cold Spring Creek Debris Flow Mitigation Phase 2 project is a debris flood and debris flow mitigation project that will result in a deflection structure, inlet ramp, a barrier, and a debris basin that provides approximately 84,000 m3 storage capacity. The project allows debris flow control upstream of existing development and thus no major infrastructure disruptions or reconstructions. It would also protect homes, above ground and buried infrastructures for residence, tourists, assets owned by the BC Ministry of Transport andInfrastructure, BC Hydro and Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.
