The project plans to install 200 turbines, each at least 10 MW in capacity, using a new self-lifting turbine design developed by Nabrawind. The turbines will have a hub height of around 220 metres and a blade tip height of 290 metres, making them the tallest in Australia. The project aims to power Fortescue Metals' iron ore mines and eliminate fossil fuel use in land transport and mining activities by 2030. Battery storage will be built at five locations across the project, and it will be complemented by large solar farms. |
