Description | Amtrak's East River Tunnel Rehab project involves repairing damaged sections of bench wall, sealing the tunnel liner to prevent water infiltration, replacing third rail, and making signal and power upgrades throughout Lines 1, 3, and 4. The project includes demolition of the bulk bench wall, installation of new conduits, concrete placement for new tunnel benchwalls, and installation of system components such as fire standpipe legs, lighting fixtures, and high-voltage feeder cables. An Aerial Utility Bridge and a new signal hut are also being installed as part of the project. |
