Description | Gazprom has taken a step forward in commercialising East Siberian coalbed methane projects by signing a cooperation agreement with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to share experience and expertise in coalbed methane developments. Gazprom has been researching options to tap into coalbed methane gas resources in the Kuzbass region of East Siberia for almost three decades but has only commissioned trial production sites so far. The cooperation aims to unify corporate standards in coalbed methane developments and leverage CNPC's experience in China's coalbed methane sector. |
