Description | The Vermont Agency of Transportation is planning to build the East-West Crossing Project, a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Interstate 89 at Exit 14 in South Burlington. A shared-use path will start at Williston Road, adjacent to Staples Plaza and follow the southwestern edge of the interchange. A connection to a shared-use path that runs through the Quarry Hill neighborhood would link to the western end. The eastern terminus would be reached through a shared-use route close to the Comfort Inn and CVS. Much of the funding for the project is being provided from a $9.76 million RAISE grant from the U.S. DOT. It is being designed by Vanasse Hangen Brustlin along an already approved alignment. |
