Description | The project involves the design, construction, operation and maintenance of an 8.1 km 3-lane dual carriageway in Johor Bahru, capital of the Malaysian state of Johor. The road links the Pandan interchange at the southern end of the North-South Highway to the new Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex, known as Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, in Bukit Chagar. This is the first fully private sector funded expressway in Malaysia. The EDL is designed to effectively disperse traffic within and among the main artery roads in Johor Bahru, providing convenience and ease of travel for an average of 160,000 motorists per day. Travel time has been reduced by as much as 35 minutes from Pandan to the CIQ. |
