Description | Eastern Power was to build, own, and operate the 350 MW natural-gas fired combined cycle facility located at Bang Bo. The project company ownership structure was divided as follows: GMS Power held 32% of the shares, Marubeni and TotalFina held 28% of the shares each, and China Development Industrial Bank held 12% of the shares. Financial closure for the project was achieved early in 2000 through the issuance of a US$115 million offshore facility fully backed by political risk insurance from MITI and a US$45 million tranche facility guaranteed by TotalFina. The remaining project costs were expcted to be funded through equity. Commercial operations were expected to start in mid-2002.
