ECA LNG Phase 1 is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal located on Mexico's Pacific Coast in Baja California. It consists of a single-train liquefaction facility with a nameplate LNG capacity of 3.25 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), supplied with U.S. feed gas from the Permian Basin. The project leverages synergies with an existing regasification plant to optimize construction costs. TotalEnergies holds a 16.6% stake and will offtake 1.7 Mtpa of LNG for 20 years from the start of commercial operations. The project is strategically positioned to serve Asian and Pacific Basin markets via the shortest maritime route, reducing transportation times and costs. The project is expected to reach substantial completion in summer 2026 and enter commercial operations shortly thereafter.
