The objective of this action is to support the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (the designated body hosting the European Consumer Centre Finland) in enforcing consumer rights by enabling consumers to exercise their rights in a cross-border context within the Single Market. Our activities are guided by the ECC-Net Vademecum. ECC Finland together with the ECC-Net provides information on EU consumer rights and offers advice and assistance for cross-border issues, helping consumers access appropriate dispute resolution schemes. Our primary focus is on delivering effective customer service. We adhere to the ECC-Net Case Handling Protocol and Quality Charter, continuously improving our services based on customer feedback. While we emphasize digital services, we also maintain a hotline. We are open to adopting new tools and technologies, including AI, to enhance our efficiency. Additionally, we engage in annual training to stay updated on new EU consumer legislation. We raise awareness and organize promotional activities regarding consumer rights and current issues, ensuring the visibility of EU funding. We maintain and develop our Ecc.fi website and utilize various channels to communicate and share information, primarily targeting Finnish consumers. We collaborate with consumer protection authorities, ADR bodies, and other relevant stakeholders, particularly fostering cooperation with the Consumer Ombudsman (CPC) and national Consumer Advisory Services. We provide insights into cross-border consumer issues by participating in COM public consultations and ECC-Net surveys, and we collect and analyze consumer case data for statistical and policy-making purposes. As active member of the ECC-Net, we participate in relevant working groups and projects, considering our human resource capacity. We also attend network meetings and study visits to enhance our knowledge and improve cooperation within the ECC-Net.
