• Objectives 1. Implement the European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) and the mandatory metadata accordingly to the standards set for national and international case law repositories (databases); 2. Connect the databases to the ECLI search engine of the e-Justice portal, with the main goal to implement the mechanism of one search via one web search interface; 3. Promote one unified database to improve searchability, migrating the various national case law (and legislation) databases to a single database, supported in a recent technology; 4. Adopt the recent technological developments to support and extend the ECLI framework. The integration of ECLI in the case management system of the courts is a open possibility. • Activities 1) Assignment of ECLI; 2) Implementation the ECLI framework in a new national repositories; 3) Linking them to the e-Justice portal; 4) Reference parsing for a very fast and smart parser for judicial references; 5) Improving case law publication, to introduce new standards or to strengthen existing good practices; 6) Enhancing and promoting ECLI; • Type and number of person If we consider the all Member States of the EU, all legal professionals and the citizens, we can consider millions in total. • Expected results The development a method which ensures the correct and unequivocal citation of judgments from European and national courts. • Type and number of outputs to be produced The outputs that can be consider: 1) the identifier ECLI, that can be assigned to any judicial decision; 2) The interconnection to the e-Justice portal, with the communication of a metadata set (mandatory and optional), considered and based on the Dublin Core metadata standard; 3) Standardizing, documenting and publishing the court codes and serial codes, namely the elements determined by the ECLI framework; 4) With the online database, comes up the easy access to judicial decisions of other Member States, integrating the ECLI search engine on the European e-Justice
