Description

Description

The project, with a volume of EUR 10.0 million in Ukraine, is aimed directly at promoting the existence of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and indirectly at internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable population groups. The aim of the measure is to improve economic independence and thus the living conditions of internally displaced persons and conflict-affected population groups with high economic vulnerability. The project aims to keep MSMEs of different sizes and types functional so that they can maintain existing jobs. Where possible, the companies should also be expanded and new jobs created. The participating MSMEs receive grants for investments in new equipment and training to support them in the necessary operational adjustments and the optimal use of the new equipment. In the course of a limited re-orientation of the project after the outbreak of the Russian war of aggression in February 2022, only a few smaller components were discontinued, but the basic direction and essential components of the project were retained. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) will be involved as the recipient of the funds and executing agency for the implementation of the measure. The project thus continues the successful work of the IOM in the field of support for the establishment and maintenance of the operations of existing MSMEs. Internally displaced persons will continue to be supported indirectly by ensuring, among other things, that MSMEs founded by internally displaced persons in the context of previous IOM projects are included among the participants.
