The action will cover the creation, update and distribution of IT crime and IT forensics training, education materials by ECTEG members and shared capacity-building resources to remedy gaps identified by the governance model and the competency framework maintained by Europol-EC3, CEPOL, Eurojust and ECTEG. The lessons learned from the ECTEG 2.0 are translated by a more detailed and structured project. To improve synergies, coherency and quality, supporting activities will provide needed technical and pedagogical standards for the development and the deployment of the delivered training package on the international and national level. The indirect outcome will be streamlining of cybercrime across the EU, sharing knowledge and expertise, promoting and improving standardisation of methods and procedures for training programmes and cooperation with other international organisations, collaboration with academic partners to establish academic qualification in the field of cybercrime. PRIMARY TARGET GROUPS of this project are LEA experts who must deal with cybercrime and computers forensics and all police officers who should address crimes facilitated by the use of new technologies. First-line police officers are considered as a primary target group too, in their role to identify and preserve potential evidence. SECONDARY TARGET GROUPS are the relevant EU agencies, Europol, CEPOL, Interpol and EU Member States who will implement the cybercrime expert course addressing needs from Law Enforcement, Judiciary, Customs and all public services actors involved in fighting crimes facilitated by use of new technologies. TERTIARY GROUPS are all EU citizens.
