EDIH-DIGIMAT: Flexible Manufacturing Systems Using Artificial Intelligence

EDIH-DIGIMAT is a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) dedicated to accelerating the adoption of advanced digital, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies among manufacturing SMEs, midcaps, and public sector organizations in the South Moravian region and neighbouring areas in eastern Czech Republic. The project is led by a strong consortium comprising INTEMAC, JIC, Brno University of Technology (BUT), Effectivity, and Tomas Bata University (TBU), strategically aligned with the Czech Republic’s Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3). The consortium supports the transition to smart manufacturing by promoting digital transformation in key technological domains, including smart connectivity, digital twins, intelligent control systems, autonomous robotics, sustainability, and industrial AI. Its objective is to foster the deployment of flexible manufacturing systems driven by industrial AI, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and the ability to adapt rapidly to change, thereby strengthening global competitiveness. To ensure broader impact and complementarity, EDIH-DIGIMAT collaborates with other European Digital Innovation Hubs, AI Factories, and Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), both within the Czech Republic and internationally. The project provides high-impact, practically oriented services tailored to the needs of its target groups, including awareness-raising, skills development, expert advisory, and proof-of-concept testing on dedicated testbeds. These services are designed to drive innovation, support digital maturity, and enhance long-term competitiveness in both regional and global markets. By serving as a driver of digital transformation, EDIH-DIGIMAT aims to empower regional stakeholders to lead in the next era of smart, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing.
