EDU EU Towards Innovative Teaching on the European Union

Teaching about the European Union (EU) remains a significant challenge for educators across Europe. Despite the EU’s direct impact on citizens’ lives, its role in education is often marginalized, inconsistently integrated across subjects, and dependent on the initiative of individual teachers (Eurydice Report on Citizenship Education in Europe, 2023). Studies highlight that many teachers lack both the confidence and the necessary training to effectively teach EU-related topics, as their initial teacher education rarely includes comprehensive instruction on EU institutions, policies, and values (Eurydice, The Teaching Profession in Europe: Practices, Perceptions, and Policies, 2021). The project's innovative and structured approach aims to the follow results: a. Better integration of EU values and studies into formal and non-formal education systems. Its achievement is pursued in particular through the development of a learning community, multilingual educational tools, operative materials and training pilot modules for trainers and for target user as teachers, students, families. b. Realization of an online Platform acting as a “one stop place” for educational institutions and learning providers, public authorities, stakeholder and civil society organisations, Connecting teachers, people across Europe and beyond, taking into, building networks and share best practices c. Training for teachers, enabling them to approach European education with greater confidence and competence
