Description | The School Construction and Equipment Project for Tanganyika will assist in the construction of two new boarding schools and extensions to 53 other schools in Tanganyika. The project will finance part of the capital cost of an expansion of the secondary school system from 1962 to 1967 with the object of increasing the secondary school enrollment from the present figure of about 15,600 to 22,500, and of increasing the number of pupils who complete the whole four-year secondary course from about 2,000 to about 5,500. It will provide more secondary school graduates to train for the wide range of jobs necessary to the economic and social development this Tanganyika. This project is regarded as an economic development and an engine to drive the country toward economic development. |
