Education Projet IV

The Education project IV is part of the implementation of the Government's education policy and its poverty reduction strategy. It constitutes a realistic and appropriate solution to the problems of the Senegalese education system. The project is expected to expand access to education through the construction and equipping of 400 classrooms for basic education, representing 20,000 additional places for primary education, 4 high schools in the vicinity of 1000 places each, and 4 middle schools with 600 places each. It also supports awareness campaigns to promote girls' schooling and reduce gender disparities and disparities between regions. With a view to strengthening the capacity of education system managers at the decentralized level, the project should fund in-depth training in planning, management of education and follow-up of 200 agents from the academic inspectorates and departmental inspectorates of education as well as the training of 3000 elementary school principals in quality management, management and piloting. The project is structured around the four components of: (i) enhanced access to education; (ii) improving the quality of education; (iii) strengthening the management capacity of the education system; and (iv) support for project implementation.
