Description

Description

Core problem Insufficient capacity and quality of basic education in Mozambique. Module objective The objective of the Education SWAp ESP-FASE XIII project is to expand the capacity of basic education and improve training. Children and young people should increasingly successfully use the educational opportunities that have been improved in terms of quantity and, in particular, quality and adapted to their living conditions. Key outputs New and rehabilitated classrooms have been built. The management of the schools financed by FASE has improved in terms of maintenance and upkeep; developed teaching materials and textbooks are available in sufficient quantities. Target group The main target group are children and young people of school age (primary and secondary school), but the PEE measures also benefit teachers, adults and MINEDH employees. Contribution to the national implementation of Agenda 2030 The program promotes the opportunities for Mozambican children and young people to receive a high-quality education and thus makes a contribution to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG), particularly with regard to quality. With a particular focus on girls, German development cooperation contributes to gender equality (SDG 5). The programme thus indirectly contributes to poverty reduction (SDG 1).
