WEST-MAR is a small Consortium which will target the SMEs in 5 provinces of Western Marmara, consisting of 5 Organizations in the of Turkey (NUTS2 TR21 and TR22) namely KOSGEB, 3 different region; Balikesir, Edirne and Canakkale), Namik Kemal University Technology Development Zone (NKUTEK) and Canakkale Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTSO). The Consortium is well balanced in terms of capabilities, knowledge of the region and complementary areas of expertise. The EEN WEST-MAR consortium, which has been the member of the EEN Network since 2014 and adopted a joint strategy for providing a full range of Network services, 3 Partners will provide “one- stop-shop” services to their clients. Giving attention to their region and target groups by EEN services, all organizations within the consortium aim to provide qualified services after understanding the needs and enhance the capabilities of the SMEs in sustainability, digitization and scale-up. WEST-MAR will primarily target the SMEs interested in carrying out international activities and/or engaging in innovation but will also include SMEs in general as well as large companies and industrial sectors of relevance to the SMEs. To further integrate WEST-MAR as the hub in the regional business- and innovation-support infrastructure, other business groups will be targeted namely regional authorities, trade associations, and other stakeholders of the R&D and innovation platform including research institutions, service providers and other European networks with the help of spokes defined. WEST-MAR, will support clients firms to transform their business, technology and management approach and assist them in their moves to higher innovation, productivity, quality and competitiveness, all prerequisites to the creation of jobs, growth and sustainable development in the region.
