The Eeyou Society of James Bay will deploy a vast wireless mobile network in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region, which will be made available to its subsidiary, Eeyou Mobilité Inc. (“EMI”). EMI’s mission is to provide affordable mobile service to residents, coverage for travelers on the region’s roads, and service delivered by agents present in each community. Phase 1 will provide mobile coverage over approximately 957 km of roads. This goal can be achieved with just 30 towers.
