Description

Description

The project is a re-investment within the framework of an existing FC funding participation in the European Fund for Southeastern Europe (EFSE) for B-shares expiring in December 2015 in the amount of EUR 20 million (alternatively in USD) with a term of 10 years. The microfinance fund, launched in December 2005 under the leadership of KfW, has quickly developed into KfW's flagship project since its establishment. The fund focuses its activities on the goal of granting loans to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and private households for housing modernization measures in the countries of Southeastern Europe and in the eastern neighborhood region, which are refinanced through qualified financial institutions. With a fund volume of now around EUR 840 million, the EFSE is now the largest micro-investment fund in the world and its innovative PPP structure has been replicated in various regions. The EFSE has excellent financial results and a high level of development policy goal achievement. Due to the revolving use of funds, by the end of 2013 more than 441,000 loans with a volume of EUR 3.0 billion had already been granted since the bank was founded.
