Description

Description

The project will provide a rapid transit connection from the western terminus of the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT) to the Mississauga’s MiWay Bus Rapid Transit service at Renforth Gateway in Mississauga. The project will create a single rapid transit connection from Kennedy Station in Scarborough through to downtown Mississauga and will address the following issues: i) increased coverage, access and network resilience; and ii) community growth and development. The project scope includes new construction of a 9 kilometre, double-track, transit alignment with 6 kilometres of tunnelled sections and the rest of the alignment above-grade and at-grade. The project will result in improved capacity of public transit infrastructure, improved quality and/or safety of existing or future transit systems and access to the public transit system in Toronto, Ontario. The project will also result in increased access to clean energy transportation.
