Description
Description | The Eglinton East LRT is a planned light rail transit line intended to connect Kennedy Station to Malvern Town Centre in Scarborough. It is approximately 18.6 kilometres long with 27 stops, designed to serve transit-dependent communities including University of Toronto Scarborough and Centennial College. The project has cleared environmental approvals but remains stalled in early design with no funding commitment or construction timeline. There is ongoing debate about whether the line should be built underground to improve speed, reliability, and transit equity, similar to the Eglinton Crosstown West extension in Etobicoke which includes significant underground tunneling. |
