Egypt - Shoubrah El Kheima Electrification IV

The present intervention relates to the Shoubrah El Kheima Power Station Unit 4 Project. It comprises the expansion of the Shoubrah El Kheima Power Station by adding a fourth 315 MW generating set, effecting the necessary rearrangements within the boundaries previously established for the first three sets and constructing the extra electrical circuits necessary to carry the additional output from the power station to a nearby main transformer sub-station. The project should help meet the power shortfall in the years beginning from 1987 and increase the reliability of supply in cairo zone. This should permit duplication of the design engineering to the greatest possible extent maintain project continuity, ease station operability and reduce risks.
