Egypt - Support to parliament Building Capacity and Mainstreaming Inclusive Growth and Decentralization

The proposed project is designed to support the Parliament through capacity building, institutional support and specialised training for mainstreaming inclusive growth and decentralisation. More specifically, it aims to: (i) strengthen the technical and professional capacity of the permanent staff of the Parliament with a focus on the work and support of parliamentary committee members; (ii) support the institutional development of the Parliament, with a focus on the new unicameral organisational structure, as well as strengthening the use of the latest information technology to improve governance and transparency; and iii) raise awareness of mechanisms to integrate social inclusion and decentralisation in strengthening social equity, with a specific case study targeting staff and members of parliament. In total, the project will focus on training and capacity building as well as institutional development and will be implemented over a three-year period.
