EIC- Leather sole

This profile envisages the establishment of a plant for the production of leather sole with a capacity of 873,600 pairs per annum, out of which 156,000 pairs will be men’s sole, 468,000 pairs ladies’ sole, and 249,600 pairs children’s sole. Leather sole is the bottom part of shoes made of leather and is one of the component parts of shoes. The demand for leather sole is met through import and domestic production. The present (2022) demand for leather sole is estimated at 900,000 pairs. The demand for leather sole is projected to reach 1,248,000 pairs by the year 2027, respectively. The project is expected to be in Oromia region bishoftu The total investment requirement is estimated USD 4.6 million out of which USD 2.6 million is required for plant and machinery. the plant to create employment opportunities for about 100 persons.
