"The European School at Ozolnieki Secondary School, Latvia will be established as a comprehensive set of educational activities aimed at providing students with the opportunity to learn about European history, the functioning of the European Union, topics related to the rights and responsibilities of active European citizens, the priorities of sustainable development in Europe, and EU values, which include human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights. Project Goals: Increase students' understanding of EU values and operations; Promote student engagement in the learning process through innovative teaching methods and extracurricular activities, including clubs, quizzes, and competitions; Improve the learning process using digital methodologies; Enhance teachers' knowledge of EU values and operations. Activities will involve students of various age groups: Primary school students (grades 1-3): Participation in Europe Day activities and competitions, fostering an early understanding of European values. Middle school students (grades 4-9): Improving understanding of European history and EU operations through interactive and interdisciplinary lessons and extracurricular activities such as quizzes, competitions, simulation games, and student council-organized events, as well as the hobby club ""Environmental Reporters"". High school students: Deepening knowledge of environmental and social sciences, thus fostering a deeper understanding of the EU's role in these areas. This includes the ""Debate Club"" , where young people can articulate their opinions, gain an understanding of participation in democratic processes, and learn about EU values. Within the project, teachers will also enhance their knowledge of EU values and sustainable development, as well as the use of digital tools, platforms, and resources to make lessons interactive and engaging. Approximately 10 teachers and 450 students participate in the project activities."
