Ekatarinburg International Telephone was one of the three companies created in December 1993 from the assets of the Ekaterinburg local telecommunications operator. The other two companies were Ekatarinburg Town Telephone Network and Ekaterinburg Telegraph. Ekaterinburg International Telephone provides international telephone services in Ektarinburgskaya and Sverdlovsk region. The company provides only international services, via coaxial cables and satellite. The company was partially privatized in 1993. Svyazinform held 38% of the common stock, and 51% of the voting rights by 1998. The remaining stake was mainly owned by employees and individual investors. Ekaterinburg's total equity valuation was $60 million by 1996. In 2000, Svyazinvest transferred its shares in the company to its subsidiary Uraltelecom. Currently part of Ekaterinburg-based branch of JSC Uralsvyazinform http://www.uralsviazinform.com/branches/ekaterinburg/
