Description | In December 2008, the Mexican companies Atlatec S.A. de C.V. and Servicios de Agua Trident S.A. de C.V. (subsidiaries of the Japanese company Mitsui) were awarded the 20-year contract to build and operate the wastewater treatment plant named PTAR PTAR El Ahogado (Zona Conurbada de Guadalajara, state of Jalisco). The treatment plant was set to have a capacity of 2250 liters/second (194.4 m3/day), benefiting 4.1 million people. The sponsors established the special purpose company Aguas Tratadas de Guadalajara S.A. de C.V. to lead the project. Detailed information on the award process led by the state government of Jalisco was not available. The investment was estimated at US$ 66.4 million (Pesos 874.9 million), of which 39.6% was funded by the Federal government.
