El Viaje Films is a film production company based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, with over 20 years of experience. Over these years, El Viaje Films has established a recognizable identity, producing a range of fiction and non-fiction films that emphasize auteur-driven, independent works. Our productions reflect a strong interest in new narrative approaches and an ethical commitment to their subjects. In the past five years, we have grown both as a company and in scope, expanding our capacity to produce films within a European and international context. This application to the MEDIA Slate Development Fund includes a slate of five fiction feature films (and one short film) that demonstrate the depth of our artistic collaborations and the diversity of our cinematic proposals. The sole beneficiary of the development funding will be El Viaje Films. The films in the slate include Tres Noches Negras (Three Dark Nights), a social thriller/drama by Theo Court; Morirás Lejos, the debut feature film by Marina Alberti; Bajo Risco an arthouse period drama by Helena Girón and Samuel M. Delgado; La Nube del No Saber, a mystical, musical journey by Lois Patiño; and El Silbido Íntimo, a dark comedy set in the Canary Islands of the 16th century. We are also including the short film: The Tower by emerging talent Jamie Weiss. With this slate, we aim to deepen our European and international connections, exploring new territories and reaching new audiences. MEDIA Slate funding would significantly enhance our capacity and help El Viaje Films further its place on the European and international stage.
