Description | Akaysha Energy Pty Ltd has kicked off the construction of its 311-MW/1,244-MWh Elaine battery in Victoria, its first energy storage project in the Aussie state. The battery will be located in Southwest Victoria within the South West Victorian Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) to manage transmission outage risks and support the integration of more renewables into the National Electricity Market (NEM). It will deploy Tesla Inc’s technology and provide up to four hours of storage capacity. The BESS will be operated under a 15-year virtual tolling agreement with federal government-owned Snowy Hydro Ltd. |
