TheElephant & Castle Regeneration Projectinvolves the large-scale redevelopment of a historically working-class, diverse area in South London. The project is being delivered through a public–private partnership and aims to:Deliver thousands of new homes, including a proportion marked as “affordable,” though concerns remain about true affordability for residents.Rebuild the Elephant & Castle town centre, including the demolition of the old shopping centre, to make way for modern retail, leisure, and cultural spaces.Create green public spaces, parks, and environmentally sustainable urban infrastructure under the Elephant Park master plan.Upgrade transport infrastructure, including a redesigned Underground station and improved pedestrian and cycling connections.Accommodate education facilities, such as the redevelopment of the London College of Communication (LCC) campus.
