Description | The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to construct the elevated Dahisar–Bhayandar Link Road (DBLR) as the final leg of Mumbai's coastal road project, aiming to reduce travel time between Dahisar and Bhayandar from nearly one hour to just five minutes. The elevated corridor will start near Kandarpada Metro station at Dahisar West and end near Subhashchandra Bose Garden in Bhayandar West, passing over environmentally sensitive areas including mangrove forests and parts of Dahisar Creek. The total linear length of the bridge will be 4.58 km, with interchanges and ramps comprising 3.64 km, and the road is planned to be 45 meters wide. The project is expected to be completed within three and a half years, with preparatory work in the first six months mainly to obtain statutory approvals. The civic body is currently awaiting environmental clearances before full-scale construction begins. |
